PORTLAND, Ore. – October 8, 2007 – The Carlson Group, a leading in-store marketing services company, was ranked 1,876 on Inc. magazine's first ever list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the country. The Inc. 5,000, an extension of Inc. magazine's annual 500 list, grasps many businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500.
The Inc. 5,000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the first week of 2003, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of December 31, 2006. Revenue in 2003 must have been at least $200,000, and revenue in 2006 must have been at least $2 million.
The Carlson Group boasted a growth rate of 193.9% from 2003 through 2006. TCG also ranked no. 30 in the "Top Companies in Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, OR-WA" and no. 98 in "Top Companies in Manufacturing."
TCG credits its growth to growing existing client share and innovative proprietary tools ProjectLink™ and OnTrack™.

The Inc. 5,000 makes its debut this year. It’s a tenfold expansion of the 25-year-old Inc. 500, Inc. magazine’s annual ranking of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States. The Inc. 5,000 is the most complete portrait of the universe of growing private companies ever assembled. This extension of the Inc. 500 brand shines a spotlight on thousands of hitherto little-known innovators in industries ranging from manufacturing and construction to consumer products to software. The Inc. 5,000 profiles are the result of screening and interviews by dozens of reporters and writers for Inc.com, the website for Inc. magazine.
